TSSAA Medical Credentials
To Whom It May Concern:
The TSSAA, in partnership with the TnSMAC and Baptist Sports Medicine, is pleased to announce a sideline credentialing process for medical staff. A new category for medical access was created in 2009 specifically for team medical personnel such as physicians or athletic trainers.
Upon completion of a brief application, a credit card sized plastic “medical credential” pass will be issued for a given season. The pass will allow a school’s medical staff direct access to a TSSAA event. Individual schools will also have the option of accepting the credential for general admission to events, making it easier for medical staff to enter sporting events.
A school may elect not to complete the medical credential application and continue to use general team passes for their medical personnel, however team passes may not grant medical personnel the same level of access as the medical credential. A good example of this would be the medical staff chairs at wrestling events, which may only be used with a medical credential.
Any licensed health care provider who serves a school in an official capacity is invited to apply for the credential. Following practitioner license and school affiliation verification, the credential will be issued directly to the applicant. Please allow approximately 3-4 weeks for processing to receive your credential by mail.
